HOLLY:  I grew up in this small, unique town, where I was lucky enough to raise my family.  I became a Charter Member of Soroptimist International of St. Helena Sunrise after a brief membership in the SI of St. Helena ("Lunch") Club.  I have held several offices during my membership:  President, Secretary, Delegate, Treasurer, and look forward to my next tenure as Secretary, with President Soroptimist Bonnie's Board Members.  I am currently employed as a real estate agent with Better Homes & Garden Wine Country Real Estate and as a nurse manager for the California Department of Public Health.  I appreciate the wonderful long-standing friendships I have developed through my Soroptimist experiences and look forward to our future endeavors of supporting our Soroptimist mission for the benefit of women and children in our community and globally.  Being a member of Soroptimist has truly enriched my life along with the lives of others.

SHARON EBERSOLE
PRESIDENT-ELECT

Sharon is currently a private tutor for two students of a winery owner.  She also has a pet sitting service/dog walking business.  Sharon was President her senior year in high school of an "S" club.  The Pasadena Soroptimist club who sponsored the "S" club, awarded seniors going to college a reward.   Sharon won that reward.  It was a guarantee to pay for four years of books at the university she studied at.

Sharon says ever since I moved to the Napa Valley I had heard of the St. Helena Soroptimist Clubs. I decided that when I could safely and emotionally leave my kids at home, I would join my local club and give back what I had been given. That is not the best part, the best part is new friendships with awesome women in my community.

Susanna groom
secretary

Susanna, a Southern California transplant, moved to the Napa Valley in 1984.   When unemployed in the Napa Valley, the obvious thing to do is find work in the wine industry, and Susanna began her career working crush in the lab at Joseph Phelps Vineyards.  She has a science background and knew how to titrate so she was hired!  Being social and finding the lab a bit isolating, she transitioned to hospitality and then to PR and marketing, taking a job with Domaine Chandon.  It was there she met and became friends with Bonnie Schoch who was already a Soroptimist.  Susanna was interested in the organization’s mission to better the lives of women and girls through opportunity and education and wanted to learn more.  Bonnie sponsored her, and she became a member of the St. Helena Sunrise Club in 2004.    Susanna also actively volunteers for Sunrise Horse Rescue (see picture!)  and has served as Secretary on their board.

PAST PRESIDENT

Norma Ferriz joined Soroptimist in 2007 a little after she arrived from Mexico. She moved to the US after she found the love of her life Evan Massaro.  She immediately started working with the St. Helena Family Center (now the Up Valley Family Centers) as their site and operations manager, where she still holds that position. She also does translations for US Fish and Wildlife Service, the St. Helena Public Library and Napa Now.  She is an active volunteer in the St. Helena community, serving as a Girl Scout leader for a troop of 15 latino girls, she is part of the St. Helena Star Editorial Board, and a board member for the Friends and Foundation of the  St. Helena Library.  Norma enjoys cycling, water sports, traveling, going to the movies and spending time with her family and dogs.

Patricia walker

Patricia Walker is a CPA with over 20 years of experience in taxation. Patricia holds a masters degree in tax, and as the firm's Tax Partner, specializes in tax research, estate planning, compliance, and tax planning for high net worth individuals and their businesses.  She excels in working with attorneys and customers to evaluate, implement, and monitor estate plans.  Patricia graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.  In 2003, she completed her Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.  She is currently the treasurer of Napa Humane and is the immediate past-president of Soroptimist International of Napa, an organization that supports women and girls on both the local and international level.
