janet todd
president
Janet Todd worked in the healthcare field for over 15 years and retired when she was vice president human resources/communications for Gambro Healthcare. Janet has her Master’s of Business Administration and Master’s of Exercise Physiology degree from the University of Pittsburgh. In 2004, she moved to St. Helena from Denver, Colorado. Janet thought she had reached her full potential in the male dominated for-profit corporate world of global healthcare. She didn’t realize that potential was limitless until she leapt into starting Girls on the Run Napa Valley in 2006, a non-profit young girl’s empowerment program with three other St. Helena women. She is one of the strategic team leaders and member of the Coalition of Community Leaders (Up Valley) and is a proud member of Soroptimist International St. Helena Sunrise. She was selected as the recipient for Excellence in Leadership in 2016 at the heart of Napa Awards by the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership and was awarded the St. Helena Citizen of the Year in 2017.

I grew up in this small, unique town, where I was lucky enough to raise my family. I became a Charter Member of Soroptimist International of St. Helena Sunrise after a brief membership in the SI of St. Helena ("Lunch") Club. I have held several offices during my membership: President, Secretary, Delegate, Treasurer, and look forward to my next tenure as Secretary, with President Soroptimist Bonnie's Board Members. I am currently employed as a real estate agent with Better Homes & Garden Wine Country Real Estate and as a nurse manager for the California Department of Public Health. I appreciate the wonderful long-standing friendships I have developed through my Soroptimist experiences and look forward to our future endeavors of supporting our Soroptimist mission for the benefit of women and children in our community and globally. Being a member of Soroptimist has truly enriched my life along with the lives of others.

Born in Germany, Ulrike came to this country at the age of 16 with her father. She received a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Mgmt from Johnson & Wales University, in Providence, R.I. and pursued her Hotel career, working in New York City and then on Cruise Ships, where she met her husband. In 2004, they moved to the Napa Valley. Ulrike currently works in the Finance Dept at Meadowood Napa Valley, as Accounting Manager. 2019/20 is her 2nd year as a member of the Soroptomist Intl. St. Helena Sunrise Club. Ulrike enjoys being part of this organization as it gives the chance to help out in the community and it’s very rewarding to be among such a warm-hearted and talented group of women.

Maggie was born in LA and lived in surrounding areas until her family moved to the Napa Valley in 1970. She met her husband Rodney at PUC Prep high-school, married at the end of 1974 and have raised their two daughters in the Napa Valley. Maggie has been a Soroptimist member since 1984 joining the St. Helena club and held the office of President for 2 years while in that club before transferring to the St. Helena Sunrise club. Maggie joined Soroptimist so that she could connect with other women in the community while doing volunteer work. She says it has been a wonderful 35 years of Soroptimist service.
